Letter from the Chairman

Dear OWASP Community,

We are quickly approaching AppSec USA the premier event for the application and software security community. I hope that you have decided to attend! If you haven't registered yet, please do so we still have seats available for our exceptional hands-on training and for the many talks being hosted on Thursday and Friday.

The AppSec Global conferences hosted by OWASP are created by the community for the community. This is your place to come together and talk with colleagues, learn new techniques and meet new colleagues working in software security. We hope you will join us and enjoy a week of learning and networking.

While we are focused on AppSec USA, we continue to encourage you to become active in OWASP, supporting projects, leading chapters and being a member in good standing. We value your support and hope that you value OWASP and its contribution to software/application security.

OWASP Foundation Staff Announcement:

Dear OWASP Community,

We are pleased to announce that Lisa Jones has decided to come on board full-time with OWASP as Manager of Sponsorship and Projects. While consulting with OWASP over the last several months; Lisa has been very helpful and hands on. She has willingly accepted and performed well on all types of tasks and duties. Her technical background and willingness to do whatever needs to be done blends well with the OWASP way of working.

While she is currently focusing on AppSec USA, after the conference she will direct more of her energy to support Kelly with sponsorship fulfillment, logistics, collections and other duties allowing Kelly more time to focus on selling and facilitating new relationships.

In addition, Lisa will work with Harold to support the administrative duties for projects, assisting him in all areas ensuring that the project leaders have OWASP's full attention and support.

Please join me in welcoming Lisa Jones to OWASP.

PROJECTS

Join us at AppSec USA 2018! We plan to review the following projects for graduation to Flagship status:
Benchmark and Dependency Track.

In addition, we will be reviewing the following projects for graduation to Lab status:
Mobile Security Testing Guide and Glue Tool

We could use help in reviewing these projects. If you are attending AppSec USA 2018 and will be available on Wednesday, October 10th and would like to help review projects, please send an email to project-reviews@owasp.org

The OWASP Project Showcase will be held on Friday, October 12th beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the California Room. This special track allows participating project leaders to highlight their projects. The schedule is currently as follows:
